The porcelain body is vast and beautifully fashioned. The decoration consists of a printed and painted design which has then been beautifully hand-coloured in thick enamels throughout. Depicting panels of aquatic plants and flowers, lotus blooms, flowering prunus and interspersed with birds and butterflies.....
All set against a vibrant blue ground. The inner rim with a formal design of interlocking ruyi styled heads and floral motifs. The interior with three sprays of aquatic plants and ornamental goldfish. The base with a six-character printed mark for the emperor JiaQing, the period from which this later pot takes its inspiration.
This is a large, imposing and decadent pot that would make a superb and standout feature in a living space or perhaps a hallway and would make a great receptacle or a favourite plant. This bowl is huge and perhaps much larger and voluminous than the photographs might suggest. Approx 45 cms wide x 41.5 cms tall. In excellent used vintage condition and displaying beautifully.
No major faults or damage. Minor wear (surface marking) around the upper rim, as shown. Collection in person please, or I can liaise with a courier of your choice.
