Superb Antique Mid 18th Century Qianlong Chinese Famille Rose Bowl - at fault. A simply stunning mid 18th century Qing dynasty Qianlong famille rose bowl, with beautifully hand-painted decorations of berries and roses in pink, red and purple with a detailed red and purple inner rim.
The coloured, raised, detailed enamels are still wonderfully bright despite being over 250 years old. A really lovely piece with an early design that was much copied later on, especially in armorial export pieces. Sadly there are some damages and this is reflected in the price. Please study the photos carefully. A section of about 4cm square in size has been broken off and glued back into place (a fairly decent repair - pic 5 & 6).
Around this repair there are a couple of tiny pieces of porcelain chipped off that are missing (one piece to the rim). There is also a further hairline crack around this damage visible only to the inside of the bowl (pic 6).
There are three further small chips to the outer rim of the bowl (example pic 8). There is a further 2cm hairline crack to the opposite side of the bowl from where the main damage is (visible to the interior and exterior - pic 7).
Despite the damages this is still a wonderful and rare collector's piece. The bowl is 5.3cm high and just under 11cm diameter rim to rim. It weighs just over 0.1kg. Please contact me if you have any questions or would like further details or pictures.
